Privacy Policy

CipherTools ("the App", "we", "our") is a 100% offline utility application for Android. It provides cryptographic tools, text utilities, a calculator, and a unit converter — all running entirely on your device.

We built CipherTools with a single privacy principle: we collect absolutely nothing. No personal data, no usage data, no device identifiers — nothing. This policy explains what that means in practice.

We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information whatsoever. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifier.
• We do not collect device information such as model, OS version, or hardware ID.
• We do not collect location data of any kind.
• We do not collect usage statistics, session data, or analytics.
• We do not collect any text, keys, or data you enter into the app's tools.
• We do not collect crash reports or error logs.

All data you enter into CipherTools — including plaintext, encryption keys, notes, and any other input — is processed exclusively in your device's memory (RAM) during your active session.

• Ephemeral by design: All inputs and outputs are cleared automatically when you close the app. Nothing is persisted to disk.
• No write access: The app does not write any files to your device's internal or external storage.
• No read access: The app does not read any files from your device's storage.
• No network access: The app has no internet permission and makes zero network requests — ever.

CipherTools requests zero Android permissions. The following table documents this explicitly:

CipherTools does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, libraries, or frameworks that collect data. Specifically, the following are not present in this app:

• No advertising SDKs (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, etc.)
• No analytics platforms (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
• No crash reporting tools (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
• No social login providers (Google Sign-In, Facebook Login, etc.)
• No cloud storage services (Firebase, AWS, etc.)
• No payment processors

The AES-256 encryption tool in CipherTools is provided for educational and personal productivity purposes. Please note the following:

• The AES implementation uses CBC mode with a static IV. It is not suitable for production-grade or high-security systems.
• Your encryption key is held in memory only for the duration of the operation and is never stored or transmitted.
• SHA-256 hashing is a one-way operation. We do not store or transmit any hashed values.
• Because the app has no network access, there is no attack surface for remote data exfiltration.

CipherTools does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no data from any user, the app is safe for use by all ages. It complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and similar regulations by design — there is simply nothing to collect.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Because we collect no data, changes to this policy will never affect how your personal information is handled — there is none to handle.
